My name is Sasha. I’m an artist.
I’ve been painting since childhood. It all started with fish and the underwater world. But as I grew and traveled, my attention shifted to more personal themes — the body, emotions, femininity, love. From the fish, I came to Aphrodite — and since then, the image of the Feminine (in all its forms) has accompanied me in my creative journey.
I’ve never studied in art academies,I decided to study psychology. I attended art school only while it still felt free and expressive. As soon as rules and structure took over, I left. For me, art is not a system — it’s a living form. A way to stay connected to myself. A way to feel joy, love, and a sense of movement through life.
I don’t limit myself when it comes to materials. My base is canvas and oil paint, but almost all my works can be called mixed media. I intuitively combine oil with acrylics, watercolor, natural oils, and pigments. Lately, I’ve been working more in digital formats. I used to travel with a huge suitcase full of canvases, paints, and palettes — it had its charm, but also many limitations. Now I’m learning to paint on the move and to share that sense of motion.
The human body is a central theme for me — which is why nudity often appears in my work. It’s about attention and admiration to body. I see the body as a form, a container of emotions and memory, a way to stay in touch with myself and life.
The most important theme in my work is love. Love for the self. Love between people. Love for nature. Painting is my way of remembering this feeling — and sharing it with others. I simply see this love — and I want there to be more of it in the world <3
